Cathy vs. Trevor: The Office Showdown
Cathy vs. Trevor: The Final Showdown
(Back in the office, where Trevor is still determined to push his “24/7 response strategy.” But Cathy has had enough.)
Trevor (entering the meeting room, ready to present more details about his plan):
“Alright team, I’ve been working on the schedule for our new 24/7 strategy. You’ll all be expected to check in every few hours, even at night. I’m sure you’ll all love the challenge of being constantly on call. Let’s get started!”
Cathy (leaning back in her chair, speaking slowly):
“Trevor, I just have to say, this revolutionary approach... is exactly what the world’s been waiting for. A system that disregards the entire concept of personal boundaries. It’s like you’re channeling the true spirit of modern life—overworked, underappreciated, and always on. I can’t tell you how much I admire your unwavering commitment to turning all of us into emotional robots.”
Trevor (nodding enthusiastically, still oblivious):
“Yes, exactly! That’s the idea! You’ll love how efficient it is! No more wasted time!”
Cathy (smiling so sweetly that it’s almost painful to watch):
“Efficiency. That’s the word, isn’t it? And when you’re running on pure efficiency, who needs things like ‘sleep’ or ‘mental health’? Those are just distractions. I’m sure we’ll all thrive as we become true ‘efficiency machines.’ I can already feel the vibrations of enlightenment coursing through my veins.”
Trevor (beaming, practically glowing with pride):
“Exactly! You get it, Cathy. The future is now!”
Cathy (leaning forward, locking eyes with Trevor, her voice turning dead serious):
“Of course, Trevor. The future is now. The future is me, with my inbox pinging every hour, even in the middle of the night. The future is working through my vacations and having my weekends consumed by immediate responses. It’s the dream. Who needs a work-life balance when we have you, Trevor? Leading us to that shining future where we all burn out in perfect harmony.”
Trevor (oblivious to the sarcasm, now visibly excited):
“You got it! This is going to be a game-changer! I just know everyone’s going to love this!”
Cathy (watching him leave, a sly smile forming on her face):
“Oh, Trevor, I’m sure they will—love it—until they collapse from exhaustion. But hey, that’s just the price of progress, right?”
And with that, Trevor continues on, completely unscathed by Cathy’s verbal jabs, still convinced he’s a visionary. Meanwhile, Cathy quietly enjoys watching the slow unraveling of his well-meaning but misguided plans, knowing full well that her passive-aggressive commentary is the real spark for change.
